CHAMBERSBURG, PA - It was a ceremony with two purposes. Friends, family members, and officials came to honor fallen solder Sergeant Andrew McConnel at the Letterkenney Army Depot. A new piece of military hardware was named in his honor.

"It gives us the ability to have a safe environment for our employees, and we can put sounder welds in faster process time to get these vehicles back out in the fields for our war fighters," says Gary Rosenberry of the Letterykenny Army Depot.

One of the highlights of the ceremony included the unveiling of the plaque by the McConnell family and several officials.

There was a brief demonstration of the new vehicle. They say the vehicle clears routes of explosives and other dangers.

"This device will increase more of our war fighters coming home," says Rosenberry.

Rosenberry says it will also continue to keep valuable jobs at Letterkenny Army Depot.
