"We doubled what we usually do everyday," says Aslam Choudhry, owner of a 7-Eleven. "People are coming from everywhere and they're buying from one ticket to multiple tickets."
While millions are trying to beat the odds, some employees have joined forces with co-workers hoping one of the tickets is the lucky winner.
"We're all getting together all as a family and we're all pitching in $10, $5 $2 all putting it in together we're going to buy some tickets to put towards it and hopefully we''ll win," says Carolynn Evans, employee at UNO Chicago Bar.
"The idea started with one of our servers," says Alex Foulado, general manager at UNO Chicago Bar. "Everybody now wants to go ahead and punch with it and we want to go ahead and do it. Why not?"
In Maryland, Powerball tickets were selling fast. Over 9,000 a minute and some already know what they would do with the money.
"It would be nice to win but my expectations are not high at all," says Evans. "I mean it would be nice for all of us to win something in life, so you know I look forward to it."
"It's a matter of having fun with it," says Fouladi. "You know when you're in a restaurant business it's always nice to have the staff get together for one common goal."
If you don't get all of the numbers, don't worry there are nine different ways to win.
