GARRETT COUNTY, MD - After last week's major snowstorm, life is almost back to normal in Garrett County.

County officials spoke about the situation on Thursday.  They say only 100 residents are currently without electricity. After the storm about 20,000 people were left without power, forcing nearly 30 residents to be sheltered.  Officials say they couldn't have been more impressed with the strength of its residents and emergency services personnel.

"One of the biggest problems was really getting power restored even after we were able to get the roads open," says James Michael Raley, Garrett County Commissioner. "But the resolve of our people was just unbelievable. I want to thank them for looking out for everyone."

Officials say they're hoping every home will have power by the end of this week.
