UPDATE: Police Make Arrest in Recent String of Home Invasions

CUMBERLAND, MD - Police have arrested the man they say broke into an elderly woman's home and attacked her in Cumberland early Tuesday morning.
Police say Jerome Phillips is responsible for three home invasions that day. They say he kicked in the door open of a home on Louisiana Avenue and cut the elderly victim with a knife before stealing medication.
Phillips is also accused of attacking another man on Monday in his vehicle and stealing prescription bottles.
Police say Phillips is charged with several counts of assault, burglary and theft. He was caught in Mineral County, West Virginia by the Sheriff's Department and will be extradited to Maryland.
