CHARLES TOWN, WV - Marylanders gave the nod to gaming expansion, but how will this effect neighboring West Virginia?

The Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races sees a large influx of visitors from Maryland.

Millions of dollars of gaming revenue are poured into numerous departments in West Virginia.

So while votes were being counted at Jefferson County's Courthouse Tuesday night, they were also keeping a close eye on Maryland's results.

"It could put quite a dent in revenues," says West Virginia Senator (D) Herb Snyder. "Hundreds of millions flow out of that into state government, and also to county government and municipal government."

Senator Snyder says he's concerned with the new law change in Maryland, but believes it'll be some time before West Virginia feels its effect.

"Keep MD money in MD" was the sales pitch for the measure. Well, don't be hypocritical and expect us non-Marylanders to spend our money in your state. As a matter of fact, we're no longer going to spend a dime in MD. WV and VA only. Turn-around is fair play. Can't you be good neighbors? It's not too much to ask.
