One Dead In Sharpsburg Mobile Home Fire

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD-One person is dead after a mobile house fire in Washington County.
It happened on the 1800-block of Back Road in Sharpsburg. Officials say the blaze broke out just after 5 a.m. Monday morning and was extinguished within 15 minutes. The trailer was burned to the ground. Fire fighters recovered one body and it's unknown if the person was a male or a female. The cause has not been determined.
"We do know the trailer itself is approximately 14 by 50 feet. There was a wood frame structure that was attached to the side," says Bruce Bouch of Maryland State Fire Marshall. "The house did have an operating wood stove and the wood frame structure was approximately 8 foot to 14 foot."
The body will be sent to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner to determine the identification. The fire is still under investigation. We will bring you more information when it's available.
