"This certainly tops my list," says Tim Colyer, Incident Management Team. "I've been on hurricanes before but to have the number of national park service and the number of employees affected."
Colyer works for the Midwest Incident Management Team for the National Park Service. He's one of the dozens of employees who will be helping park families affected by Hurricane Sandy and assessing damage in park sites.
Because of the lack of power, supplies, and places to stay in the New York and New Jersey areas the command post for them is in Hagerstown over 100 people from around the country are meeting and preparing here before they go up to assist.
Because of how widespread the damages are, the National Park Service are dividing into branches for different parks and assignments.
