All of the Hagerstown firefighters are wearing pink shirts, even when they're fighting fires to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Many of the them have loved ones who were diagnosed with the disease. The shirts are also on sale for $10 dollars to the public, with proceeds going towards the Susan B. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure Campaign.
"We are always out to help people in anyway we can, this is a way we can show all those who are suffering from cancer and have out support for them," says Richard Gilbert of
Hagerstown Fire Department.
To purchase a pink shirt, contact Russell Daiello 301-667-3008 from Monday to Friday between 9 am to 5 pm.
