The infamous "Three-Mile Island" had an automatic shutdown Thursday afternoon.
Residents in the area heard a loud noise, which was caused by steam being released into the atmosphere.
Officials are investigating the exact cause of the shutdown, and say the amount of radiation released was so small it is not measurable.
The plant was running at full capacity when the shutdown occurred.
