FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA - State police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted and attempted to kidnap a young woman in Southampton Township.

It happened just before 7:00 p.m. Monday night in the 400 block of Roxbury Road.

Police say the suspect first drove up to the 20-year-old who was walking and asked if she wanted a ride.

When she declined, he drove away, but then drove back and got out of his vehicle.

That's when police say he chased her, began hitting her and tried to drag her into his vehicle.

After a brief struggle, the man took off in a red vehicle, possibly a minivan.

The suspect is described as a white male between 30 and 40 years of age, around 5'8 with short brown hair and a heavy build.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and sunglasses with orange lenses.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call police.

Comments

Orange tinged sunglasses are frequently used for shooting sports and fishing. Anybody have a hunting or fishing buddy not show up last night?
