FREDERICK, MD - $1 million in renovations are complete at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick.
The upgrades began all the way back in 2008. They include new paint, chairs, chandeliers, and carpeting in the theater, as well as painting and new tile in the lobby.
"The Weinberg Center is really the heart of downtown Frederick and the heart of the arts right here. We really are the hub of performing arts entertainment to Frederick County," said Victoria Temiz, with the Weinberg Center for the Arts.
Those at the center tried to spruce up the building while keeping some of the historical feel of the building built back in the 1920s.
"By us having these renovations, we really are expanding on the experience that people are having when they come to see a performance," Temiz said. "I think people can now really be proud of the Weinberg Center and what we have to offer."
The Weinberg Center will hold a theater unveiling ceremony on Friday, September 28th at 6:30 p.m. That event is free and open to the public.
