Flooded Cafe Back Open for Business

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV - What may seem like a town of chimes and cheers was anything but after the heavy downpours caused massive flooding.

"The town is suffering from the effects," says customer Jean Thatcher.

"It was just insane," says Rhonda Dietrick of Tari's Cafe.  "Never seen anything like it"

Dietrick says the water came through from different parts of the building.

"In no time the water was coming in the front door, in the back door, opposite of the basement through the floor boards, " says Dietrick.

Fortunately one area of the cafe remained untouched by the flood.

"We spiffed it up, put extra tables up and the whole crew pulled together to salvage what we could. The locals are back. It's been wonderful," says Dietrick.

Comments

Folks need to come to town and see how perfect everything is.
