HAGERSTOWN- There's whole new meaning to a man and his best friend.  Officers and their dogs have been training for Maryland Department of Public Safety Correctional Services K-9 Unit and now they're officially partners in cracking down on crime.

All together eleven handlers received their diplomas at the Randolph Mill Holland National Guard Armory in Hagerstown Wednesdat,.  They were joined by fellow K-9 Unit members, correctional services and police officials as well as their family members.  They say now it's time to take a bite out of crime.

"It's finally over, now we can get out on the road, start to use all the training we have done, and start giving back to the community.  We want to get drugs and bad guys off the streets," says Deputy 1st Class Jason Litten of Washington County Sheriff's Office

Training was held at the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services K-9 Headquarters in Hagerstown.  The graduates will be deployed in Jessup, Baltimore, the Eastern shore and Washington County.
