Police Log: 01-12

 Waynesboro Police:

On January 11, 2012 at 12:55 hours the Waynesboro Police Department responded to 42 West Main Street; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania (Just Because) for the report of an unknown disturbance.

According to shop owner, Phillip Crawford (39 y.o.a.), who lives in the 200 block of West Fourth Street; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania male subject high on drugs had attempted to steal from his store and had run out wearing only underwear. A bystander alerted police that the male in question was injured and in the News Agency at North Potomac Street and West Main Street. Police located the subject male who was detained. The subject had injuries and appeared to be frightened.

The preliminary investigation revealed that he was involved with Crawford in trading merchandise for cash and narcotics. According to the victim one such deal went bad and Crawford held the victim against his will in a back room of the store where the victim was stripped of his clothes and assaulted. The victim managed to escape fled the scene dressed only in his underwear and sought help from a nearby store where bystanders alerted authorities.

Crawford was taken into custody and transported to Franklin County Correctional Facility. Crawford is to be charged with; Aggravated Assault, Terrorist Threats, Kidnapping and related charges.


Cumberland City Police:
On Wednesday January 11, 2012, Cumberland City Police officers responded to a residence on North Lee Street for a reported assault.  Upon arrival contact was made with the victim of the incident.  It was revealed that Dustin Liller, age 19 of Cumberland had assaulted and threw the victim into a bathtub.  Liller was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was processed.  Liller was released on his personal recognizance by the District Court Commissioners Office.  The victim of this incident did not require medical attention.
Frederick Police Department:

INCIDENT/ INFORMATION: On the above date at approximately 1900 hrs. Officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a reported robbery at the Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, 5 Willowdale Dr. in Frederick.  When officers arrived on scene it was determined the incident was not a robbery, but a theft.  The suspect entered the business through an unsecured door and located an undisclosed amount of US currency in the office area of the business.  The B/M suspect described as 6-0/240 lbs., clean shaven wearing a lightweight Black rain jacket, dark knit cap and dark tee shirt and jeans took the money and left the business.  A thorough canvass of the area failed to locate the suspect.  Crime scene and CID responded to the business and began the follow up investigation.
