Police Log: 12/27

Cumberland Police:
On December 26, 2011 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 506 Linden Street for a breaking and entering complaint. Investigation revealed that the home owner returned to the residence around 1:00 P.M. After returning home, two males were observed running from the front porch. One male suspect was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the other wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. The male suspect wearing the grey sweatshirt was believed to be a white male. Both suspects were described as younger males. The suspects were observed fleeing the area running down Linden Street across Frederick Street and up into the woods behind Sheetz store. During an investigation into the matter officers found the front door open. It appeared as if the suspects first entered the basement area of the residence and looked through several cabinets. The suspects were unable to enter the upstairs of the residence through the basement. The suspects then went to the rear door of the residence and forced it open to gain entry. Once the suspects gained access to the residence several drawers, cabinets, and closets were opened in each room of the house. The suspects then exited the residence through the front door that faces Linden Street. According to the victim it did not appear as if anything was taken. A neighborhood canvass was conducted by the officers with no further information developed. The Maryland State Police Crime Lab responded to the residence to assist in processing the scene.

Frederick Police:
On Monday December 26, 2011 at approximately 1258 hours OFC Putman of the Frederick Police Department responded to the 100 block of North East Street for the report of a disorderly subject. Another off duty officer witnessed a male, later identified as Spivey, James Lincoln, tearing down Christmas decorations in that area. OFC Putman located the subject in an establishment in the 100 block of North East Street, causing a disturbance within. OFC Putman escorted Spivey from the establishment where he was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Spivey repeatedly identified himself as Charles Wesley to OFC Putman. As Spivey was being processed by central booking personnel fingerprints confirmed Spivey's true identity. Spivey was also wanted out by the Howard County Police Department for failing to properly register as a sex offender. OFC Putman had already secured for the day so Spivey was charged by OFC Auge under his correct name, at which time he was also served the warrant from Howard County. At the time of the press release Spivey was currently awaiting a hearing before a district court commissioner.
