Cumberland Police Department:
December 13th 2011                                          CDS
On 12/13/11 at 1230am an Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept was conducting a patrol check of the Allegany Trail parking lot located off of Market Street when he observed a suspicious vehicle. The officer made contact with the occupant of the vehicle and identified him as 19 year old Andrew Ryan Sell of Cumberland. The officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle and then performed a probable cause search. The search yielded a small quantity of marijuana and smoking devices. As a result Sell was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Sell was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on his own recognizance pending trial.
Cumberland Police:

On 12/14/2011 22 year old Gregory Thomas Laisure was arrested by C3I Investigators on the parking lot of a downtown business in Cumberland. Laisure was wanted in connection with the series of business robberies and home invasion robberies which have occurred in Allegany County, and is a suspect in robberies which occurred in nearby Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Earlier, the Pennsylvania State Police executed a search warrant at a private residence in Stringtown, Pennsylvania, and as a result information was developed that helped lead Investigators to a possible location for Laisure.

Laisure is being charged with numerous counts of Armed Robbery, Theft, and Assault for the robberies which occurred at the Brass Kactus in Cumberland, Billie's Gas & Grub in Flintstone, and at a private residence in Rawlings.

23 year Cody Jerome Crabtree, 20 year old Cory Joseph Crabtree, and 21 year old Zachary Burdette Huffman have already been arrested and charged in connection with the same incidents.

Laisure is currently awaiting an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

The investigation is continuing, and at least one additional arrest is anticipated.
