On 12/6/11 an arrest warrant was served on Antonio Maurice Smith, age 21, of Cresaptown charging him with first degree burglary and misdemeanor theft.
The charges are the result of a November 25th investigation where officers responded to a Fort Cumberland Home residence for a report of a burglary in progress.  Upon arrival officers interviewed the tenants who advised they returned home and discovered that someone had entered their residence.  When the tenants further checked their home they observed Antonio Smith, who is known to him, fleeing out their back door.  The responding officers then filed for charges in this matter which resulted in the issuance of the arrest warrant.
Following his arrest Antonio Smith was taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was held on $7500.00 bail.
On 12/ 6 11 at 1:55pm Cumberland Police Officers responded to a Park Street business for a report of a shoplifting.  Upon arrival officers and employees reviewed video surveillance which showed a female stealing items and leaving the store.  Subsequent investigation lead to the identification of the suspect as Tameka Shawnte Woods, age 29, of Cumberland.  Tameka was then located and arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft as well as being served with 2 outstanding arrest warrants charging her with failure to appear for trial.  As a result Tameka Woods was taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was held without bail.
