C3I:

Early Tuesday morning, 12/06/2011, at approximately 4:00AM, the Frostburg Police responded to a reported armed robbery which had just occurred at the 7-11 Convenience Store, located on East Main Street in Frostburg.

Officers interviewed an employee who was working at the time and learned that a lone suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded the money from the cash registers. The employee complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed sum of cash. The suspect then fled the store on foot.

A search of the area was conducted by the Frostburg Police, with the assistance of the Allegany County Sheriff's Office, but the suspect was not located at that time. The crime scene was processed for evidence by the Maryland State Police Crime Lab.

Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Further interviews of the employee provided a description of the suspect, who is described as a white male, approximately 5-08 to 5-09 in height, medium build, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect also wore a plastic bag over his head to conceal his identity.

Anyone with information regarding this case can call the Frostburg Police at 301-689-3000, or the C3I Unit at 301-777-0326. If callers wish to remain anonymous, they can call the Allegany/Mineral County Crime Solvers at 301-722-4300, where callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1500.00 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

The investigation is continuing.
