Cumberland Police Department:
Officers responded to a residence on Shawnee Ave. for a report of a theft.  Upon their arrival they contacted the victims who advised that they had a friend over who was identified as Michael Paul Schell.  While at the house Schell asked if he could borrow some money and was told no.  He then stayed for a while and began drinking with some of the residents.  Later in the evening the victim advised that she located Schell in her bedroom alone.  After this Schell wanted to leave the residence and was given a ride to a residence on Furnace St.  Once the victim arrived home she became suspicious and checked her bedroom.  She noticed that her jewelry and a prescription bottle of medication had been stolen.  The victim then responded to the location where she dropped Schell off and was able to locate him standing on the sidewalk.  Schell was confronted and at this time a female walked out of the house.  She advised that when Schell came home he gave her a handful of jewelry and prescription bottle.  Officers arrived at this location and the victim was able to identify these items as the ones that were stolen from her house.  The victim advised that the value of the items stolen was $4000.  Schell was placed under arrest and transported to PH where he was charged and processed.

Thursday, November 24, 2011 @ 12:13 PM    DUI / Driving Suspended Arrest
While on patrol in the area of Park St. an officer observed a vehicle being operated by Erin Michelle Williams.  The officer is familiar with Williams and was aware that her privilege to drive in the state of Maryland was currently suspended.  Dispatch confirmed this and that the vehicle registration has been expired since March 2011.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle while it was traveling on I-68 E/B.  The vehicle continued traveling through the city making no attempt to stop ignoring the officer's emergency lights and siren.  The vehicle then stopped on Reservoir Ave.  At this time Williams exited the vehicle and stumbled back towards the officers' car.  She was ordered to go back to her car and refused to do so becoming argumentative with the officer.  She was asked to provide all of her vehicle and driver's license documents.  At this time she advised that she wasn't supposed to be driving.  When asked why she refused to stop she stated that she wanted to make it home first.  While talking with Williams the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath and person.  Williams was placed under arrest and transported to PH where she was charged and processed.
