Wednesday, November 23, 2011 @ 9:33 PM    Domestic Assault Arrest
Officers responded to a residence on Weber St. for a report of a domestic disturbance.  Upon their arrival they contacted the female victim who was outside in her vehicle.  She advised that she was sleeping upstairs when she was awoken by her husband John Thomas Rushing rolling her out of the bed.  She stated that the lights were out in the room and the door was shut.  She stated that she attempted to get out of the room but John wouldn't let her out of the room.  Once she located her phone she attempted to call the police when John began to fight her for the phone.  She was able to get out of the bedroom at this time and make it downstairs where she was able to find his phone.  She attempted to use it and he again fought her for the phone.  She was then able to get out of the house to her car.  The victim advised that this assault was a result of John being angry over no food being in the house along with him being intoxicated.  John was contacted and admitted to rolling her out of bed after she poked him in the back.  Officers observed the victim to have several injuries to her as a result of the assault from John.  John was placed under arrest and transported to PH where he was charged and processed.

Maryland State Police, Frederick:
On November 23, 2011 at approximately 9:00 PM, the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack received a report about a vehicle that had went off the roadway and burst into flames, Northbound I-270 south of Park Mills Road.  Upon the arrival of investigating troopers, it was learned that a red 2000 Toyota Corolla had been observed by several witnesses operating in a reckless manner just prior to the collision, at one point side swiping another motorist.  The vehicle was then observed veering off the right hand side of the interstate where it struck several trees and burst into flames.  The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was partially ejected from the vehicle and died of their injuries at the scene.  Further investigation into this matter revealed that the Toyota had been reported stolen earlier in the day to authorities in Virginia by a pizza restaurant.  The identity of the operator of the stolen vehicle will not be released at this time.  The investigation into this incident is still on going.
