Police Log: 11/17

Waynesboro Police Department:
On November 15th about 6:50 Pm Waynesboro police were called to the 
area of W. Main st and Potomac st in waynesboro for a report of a 
pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle and the vehicle fled the 
scene.  The victim was walking South across the cross walk on the West 
side of Main st.  The victim said he did not press the walk signal 
button and he was unaware if the walk light was lit.  The vehicle was 
sitting in the left turn lane on South Potomac st heading North.  The 
vehicle accelerated rapidly after the light turned green, turning West 
on to W. Main st and struck the pedestian.  According to witnesses and 
the victim, the vehicle continued West on Main st accelerating away 
from the scene.  No registration was obtain from the victim or 
witnesses.  The victim had minor injuries and did not go the the 
hospital

Cumberland Police Department:
On November 16, 2011, at 8:28 pm, Cumberland Police Officers responded to a residence on Rose Hill Avenue in Cumberland for a reported domestic disturbance.  Officers observed injuries to the victim in this incident.  Investigation revealed that James Elmer Milton, age 18 had assaulted the victim prior to the officer's arrival.  Milton was placed under arrest and charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Obstruction of Justice.  He was transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing.  After a bond review at the District Court Commissioners office, Milton was released on his personal recognizance.  The victim did not require medical attention.
On November 16, 2011, at 11:19 am, Cumberland Police Officers responded to the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue for an assault complaint.  Investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted by three assailants with a baseball bat and knife.  It was revealed that the victim was held down to the ground and at one point held at knife point while being assaulted.
As a result, Lionel Craig Younger and Leroy Younger both of Cumberland were arrested on the scene.  They were transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where they were both charged with:
Assault 1st Degree
Assault 2nd Degree
Reckless Endangerment
Dangerous Weapon/Intent to Injure
After processing, both Younger's were taken to the District Court Commissioner's Office for a bond a review.  Lionel Younger was held without bond.  He was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center.  Leroy Younger was released on his personal recognizance.  The victim was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Center for treatment.  One additional arrest is pending.
