Low Voter Turnout For Franklin County Municipal Election

From the totals, about 17% of registered voters came out. Officials say the turnout is low for this election because more people requested absentee ballots and some candidates ran unopposed.
However voters say no matter what the ballot may look like, it's still important to get their voices heard.
"I think for the local sometimes it makes more of a difference, because this is where we live," says Brett Williamson, a voter. "Sometimes you get lost in the national elections and you think I'm a little person but here people that we're voting for now as a community day to day."
