Cumberland Police Department:

Disorderly
On October 26, 2011, at 8:11 P.M., officers were working foot patrols on Virginia Ave. during the Annual Halloween Parade.  During the parade officers were contacted by a citizen complaining that an individual was pouring liquids from a second floor apartment onto parade spectators. Officers located the a male subject identified as Gary Claus in the 300 block of Virginia Ave. pouring an unknown liquid out of a second floor window onto the sidewalk.  Officers ordered Claus to stop pouring the liquid and to come to the door but he refused to comply.  Due to the odor of the liquid officers believed it to be a chemical cleaner and a safety concern.  After several attempts officers were able to gain entry into Claus's residence and place him under arrest without incident.  Claus was transported to the Cumberland Police Department and charged with Disorderly Conduct.  Claus was later released pending trial. There were no injuries reported during the incident.
