Cumberland Police Department:

Assault
On 10/25/11 Cumberland Police Officers responded to a Pennsylvania Avenue residence for a reported disturbance.  Upon the Officers arrival they observed two men actively involved in an altercation.  The men were ordered to separate and they did so.  An investigation revealed the two men had been involved in an argument about a previous assault.  Both subjects were then arrested and transported to the Cumberland Police Department. After processing Demetrius Macklin was transported to the District Court Commissioner's Office and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.  James Washington was also transported to the District Court Commissioner's Office and was released on his Personal Recognizance.
Arrested were:

Charges: Second Degree Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Affray
James Richard Washington Age: 44                        Cumberland, MD
Charges: Second Degree Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Affray

Domestic- Assault
On 10/25/11 Cumberland Police officers responded to a Humbird Street address for a report of a Domestic Assault.  Upon the Officers arrival they spoke to the victim who stated her boyfriend, Clifford Perkins, assaulted her by grabbing her around the neck and placing her head face down into a pillow.  The victim had signs of injury to her neck and her wrist.  The suspect fled the residence with the victim's cell phone prior to the arrival of the Officers.  The suspect was located a short time later near the residence and was placed under arrest.  After processing he was transported to the District Court Commissioner's Office and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
Arrested was:
Clifford Thomas Perkins, Jr.                              Age: 27                        Cumberland, MD
Charges: Second Degree Assault and Theft.
CDS Arrest
On 10/25/11 a Cumberland Police School Resource Officer was contacted by Allegany High School Officials in reference to a CDS complaint at the school.  The Officer responded and an investigation was initiated.  The investigation revealed a male student was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana with a sufficient quantity to indicate distribution.  As a result of this investigation this 14 year old male student of Allegany High was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.  The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  The Department of Juvenile Services was contacted and the juvenile was released to his parents pending court action.
C3I:

A month long crack cocaine investigation conducted by C3IN ended Tuesday night with an arrest of a Brooklyn, New York resident.  Timmie Cotton, 33 years of age, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack, possession with intent to distribute MDMA-Ecstasy, possession of crack, possession of MDMA-Ecstasy, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and handgun in a vehicle.  Cotton was operating a 2004 Dodge Durango when a traffic stop was initiated in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Cumberland, Maryland.  A search of the vehicle revealed an electronic hidden compartment under the front passenger seat.   The compartment contained  a substantial amount of crack cocaine and Ecstasy, two handguns, and drug paraphernalia. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at over $31,000.
Frederick County, MD Sheriff:
Early this morning, Det. Ronald Dement of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office arrested Eric N. Dunlop, age 18 of Myersville, MD.  Dunlop was charged with first-degree burglary, theft over $1000 and destruction of property over $500.  Dunlop was arrested in connection to a residential burglary that occurred on 09/16/2011, where various items to include a purse, electronic items and various gift cards were stolen.  Criminal investigators have linked Dunlop to additional burglaries and the investigation is continuing.
Since Sept. 6th, 2011, Community Deputies in Myersville and Middletown have been investigating a series of burglaries and thefts occurring in the Middletown, Myersville, Harmony and the Wolfsville areas.   In total, there have been nine residential burglaries and eight thefts from vehicles.  The types of items stolen include purses, wallets, credit cards, gift cards, electronic items and cash.  The suspect/suspects entered the homes and vehicles during early morning hours through unlocked doors and open garages.
Criminal Investigators would like to acknowledge the hard work of those involved with the case; Tfc. Dave Zanoni provided traffic support and assisted with the overnight operations, community deputies devoted numerous hours to the investigation and assisted with developing leads and suspects, Crime Analyst Coordinator Nathan Michael compiled critical case information and kept investigators up to date with case details and PACE Team members and investigators assisted with overnight surveillance operations and case follow up.
The Sheriff's Office urges citizens to minimize their risk of burglary and theft by keeping all doors/windows locked.  Vehicles should be parked inside a garage or in a well lit area, and all valuables should be kept out of sight.  Additionally, citizens should report suspicious activity immediately.

Cumberland Police:
On Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at approximately 9:05 a.m., the Cumberland Police as well as the Cumberland Fire Department responded to South Penn. Elementary School for a report of a fire.   When officers arrived, they were informed the school had been evacuated and the fire had been extinguished.  Further investigation into the incident revealed that the fire had been intentionally set by a student.  Two Board of Education employees were transported to the Western Maryland Medical Center for treatment.  The Maryland State Fire Marshals responded and assisted in the investigation.  Charges are pending upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Frederick County, MD Sheriff:
On 10/26/2011 at approximately 1:13 a.m. Dfc. Jeffrey Null of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office arrested Robert E. Drollinger, age 34 of Middletown, MD.  Drollinger was charged with manufacturing and distributing a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana and possession of heroin.
Dfc. Null initiated a traffic stop in the area of Buckeystown Pike at Francis Scott Drive.  The vehicle was stopped for having a broken tail light and suspended registration.  A Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit responded to assist.  During a scan of the vehicle, the K-9 Unit alerted to the odor of a narcotic.  During a search of the vehicle, loose marijuana flakes were found.
A routine check of the passenger, Drollinger, found that he was wanted on three (3) active warrants.  During a search, Drollinger was found to be in possession of marijuana, and in a bag that fell from his pants, deputies retrieved 100 capsules of heroin.  The heroin was individually packaged into four separate bags, each of which contained 25 capsules.
The contraband was seized as evidence and placed on property with the Sheriff's Office.  Drollinger was arrested and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center's Central Booking Unit for processing
