Police Log: 10-25-2011

Cumberland Police:
On October 24, 2011 at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Bedford Street in reference to a domestic assault.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the victim who advised the officer that he had an argument with his girlfriend at which time she struck him in the face.  Officers were able to observe minor swelling to the victim's face where he was struck.  The victim did not require medical treatment.  As a result of the assault, Brandolyn Michelle Simpson was placed under arrest and charged with one count of second degree assault.  Simpson was then transported to police headquarters for processing.  After the processing Simpson was taken to District Court for her initial appearance at which time she was released on her personal recognizance.

Frederick Police Department:

On yesterday's date (10/24/2011), Det. Mike Morgan of the Frederick Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division applied for an arrest warrant in the M&T Bank Robbery case from 5/10/11.  The warrant was issued for:

Richmond, VA 23225

 

Through the course of his investigation, Det. Morgan worked with authorities in Hanover County, VA, James City, VA and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in order to develop a suspect and additional leads.  Evidence in the case helped to positively identify Galindo as the bank robber and link him to multiple bank robberies in several jurisdictions.  Authorities in Richmond, VA apprehended Galindo on 10/24/2011 without incident. Galindo is currently being held on charges VA .

Galindo was charged with the following formt he robbery of the M&T Bank in Frederick:

Armed Robbery

Robbery

Handgun use in commission of a felony/violent crime.

Assault 2nd Degree

Theft Less $1,000


Frederick Police Department:

INCIDENT/ INFORMATION:  Driving Suspended/CDS Arrest

On October 24, 2011 at approximately 6:06 PM, OFC Michelle Cassady and OFC Jeff Putman were on patrol in the area of East South Street and South East Street when they observed a vehicle drive through a red signal and stop in the intersection.  Upon making the traffic stop and contacting the driver, Mr. Maderia, they found that his privilege to drive was suspended.

While Mr. Maderia was being arrested, OFC Putman observed a CDS smoking device (crack pipe) on the floorboard of the vehicle.  Further search of the vehicle revealed a small amount on crack cocaine.

Mr. Maderia was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
