Police Log: 10-20-2011

Cumberland Police Dept.:
On 10/19/11 a Criminal Summons was served on Chad Dylan Robinette, age 29 of Cumberland charging him with three counts of Possession Other than Marihuana.  This was an incident that took place on October 9, 2011 where a Cumberland City police officer on patrol in the area of Martins Supermarket observed Robinette acting in a suspicious manner.  Upon further investigation, the officer found three different types of controlled dangerous substances on Robinette's person.
Frederick Police Department:
The Frederick Police Department is pleased to announce a verdict regarding the robbery of two men at gun point, which took place at the Hickory Hills Apartment on September 6, 2011. Due to involvement and assistance from the community and the diligent investigative effort by the Frederick Police Department's Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division, an arrest was made within 4 days. The suspect, who is sixteen years old, has been detained since September 6, 2011, and today he was found responsible for the crime of Robbery.  He has been committed to a Department of Juvenile Services facility with sentencing to follow.
The Frederick Police Department would like to thank and commend our residents for working so closely with us. It is this type of trust and communication with our residents which allows for cases to be solved.  Likewise, we would like to commend the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions of the Frederick Police Department as well as States Attorney Laura Wilt, for their quick apprehension and prosecution in this matter.
This whole incident resulted in a swift arrest and prosecution, taking a little over a month for a verdict.
