Cumberland City Police:
On October 13, 2011 the Cumberland Police Department served two Allegany County District Court Bench Warrants on Hannalore Regina Norris, age 34 of Cumberland.  The one bench warrant was for Failure to Appear and the other was for Violation of Probation.  Norris was taken to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance and held on $7,557.50 bond in the Allegany County Detention Center.
On October 13, 2011 the Cumberland Police Department served two Allegany County District Court Bench Warrants on Derek Christian Thomas, age 20 of Cumberland.  Both bench warrants were for Violation of Probation.  One was an original charge of motor vehicle/unlawful taking and the other was an original charge of 4th Degree burglary.  Thomas was taken to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance and was held on $1,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
On October 13, 2011 at approximately 9:20 PM the Cumberland Police Department received a report of a possible drug transaction taking place in the area of the 400 block of Columbia Street.  Officers responded to the area and spoke with the complainant.  They were provided a description of a subject and checked the nearby area.  They located a subject matching the description in the 300 block of Furnace Street.  After speaking to the subject, they received consent to search his person and located a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.  A further search revealed five (5) prescription narcotic pills and a quantity of US Currency.  Patrick Lionel Smith Jr. was arrested at the scene and transported to Cumberland Police Department for processing.  Smith was charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute, CDS intent to distribute narcotics, two counts of CDS possession other than marihuana, and omit label on prescription drugs.  Smith was taken to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance and he was held on $20,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
