WHAG - What do Sarah Palin, the World Cup and the snow storm that buried Washington D.C last winter have in common?
They helped create the newest words in the American English lexicon. And on Tuesday, WHAG's Adam Winer challenged Meterologist Chris Smith to use all the words in his Final 7-Day Forecast in 30 seconds.
According to the global language monitor, who track the popularity and use of new words and 2010's hottest new terms are:
Vuvuzela, the plastic horns that were made famous at this year's soccer world cup.
Spillcam, the live camera that broadcast live pictures of the plume of oil off Louisiana for much of the summer.
Snowmageddon or snowpocalypse, a term used to describe the blizzard that buried the four-state-region last winter.
And finally, refudiate, Sarah Palin's unique blending of the words refute and repudiate.
