DASHCAM Diaries - Left For Dead - Tyler, Texas

A police dash camera captured shocking images of a Texas State Trooper taking gunfire at point-blank range. Trooper Steve Stone pulled over the driver of a pick-up truck for speeding. He found alcohol and marijuana in the truck and as he tried to arrest one of the men, the other man pulled a gun from under his shirt and began shooting. Stone, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, was shot in the chest and neck several times as he rolled down an embankment. The suspects kept firing until their guns were empty, then jumped back into their truck and fled. The men were arrested a short time later when they crashed the truck during a chase with police. Trooper Stone has since recovered from his injuries and is back on the job with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Recalling the incident, trooper Stone said a lot of things were going through my mind. The one thing I could think of was one, I wanted him to stop shooting and with every round that was hitting me, I thought I was going to die.
