CHAMBERSBURGPA - For many, fighting over a bag of Gibble's potato chips was not on their agenda.

But when Gibble Foods decided their crunchy snacks will be no more, some are feeling a little 'chip' on their shoulder. Millions have been enjoying their snacks for more than half a century.

"Devastated! Been eating them since the 1950's. I love them. My wife says I shouldn't eat them. But I still go for them," says Dennis McGinnis, a Gibble's fan

In a press release, Gibble Foods CEO Eldon Dieffenbach says Gibble Foods is discontinuing the manufacturing of Gibble's snack products starting March 9th.

After owning the business for only about three months, both the Gibble family along with the many Gibble's fans are struck by the news.

"We've also been selling Gibble's potato chips, pretzels, and their cheese puffs here in our store. Obviously with what's going on right now we're very sad about it," says Kim Eshleman, a Gibble's family member.

Scott Heintzelman of Martin's Famous Pastry Shoppe expressed his sorrow for the many that lost their jobs as a result of Gibble Foods closing.

Dieffenbach did not say how many are employed by the company or how many people would be laid off.

Here's hoping the new guy on the block falls flat on his face! Anyone destroying such an institution doesn't deserve to own it!
