SHENANDOAH, WV- The Shenandoah Area Boy Scouts held their annual Distinguished Citizens Dinner Thursday evening.

The event was held at the Martinsburg Holiday Inn.

This year West Virginia Congresswoman Shelly Moore Capito, West Virginia - 2nd District, was honored at the event.

Capito was recognized for her support of children and her status in the community. In addition to honoring the congresswoman, the dinner served as a fundraiser for the boy scouts.

When asked about the boy scouts recent issue of letting gay scouts join the troops, Capito says it's something the organization needs to handle.

"I think that's a topic I'll let the scouts sort out. Certainly I know they have been looking at that and had some criticism, but that's a thing for the boy scouts to figure out.. the best way to look a that issue and resolve it," says Capito.

The dinner was held by the Potomac District.
