HAGERSTOWN, MD- Let it snow! Let it snow! Or not? The highly anticipated snow storm took some twists and turns.

"We've been very pleased. Most areas haven't received the amount of snow fall that was of course predicted," says Ed Plank, director of Washington County Highway Department.
The snow blanketed the town adding to the peace drivers experienced on the road.

"The roads are pretty clear. They're not bad at all. They're not slushy. It's not slippery," says commuter Shelly Stitely.

But after a fairly winterless year, some were hoping for a snow storm blast.

"It's been a real disappointment because the roads have been great and I was hoping for a big snow storm," says commuter Eric Stanfield.

Although Eric didn't get the snow he was looking for, highway crews have nonetheless stayed busy making sure the roads are clear.

Officials with the Highway Department says the roads haven't been too bad. But one of their major concerns is the heavy snow breaking trees and tree limbs.

There was a concern for higher elevations but Plank says the temperatures were warmer than expected. One last shot of winter from mother nature before she unveils spring with great expectations.

Plank says their workers are keeping a close eye on the highways throughout the area to ensure highway safety.
