WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for areas in purple below from 7am to 6pm Tuesday. A brief period of sleet and freezing rain is possible late morning and early afternoon, especially above 1,000 feet.


TODAY: A low pressure moves in from the south and west with a brief wintry mix of sleet, and freezing rain by late morning and early afternoon, especially above 1,000 feet. It quickly changes over to rain with up to .75"-2" of rain expected by tonight. The Alleghenies will see a longer period of freezing rain throughout the day. A quarter inch of ice possible where a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Western Allegany, Grant, Mineral and Garrett Counties. Highs will be in the upper 30s to near 40.
TONIGHT: Rain will end after midnight with lows in the upper 30s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with a passing shower in the afternoon. Highs in the low 50s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy and windy with a lingering shower or snow shower possible. High: mid 40s. Mountain snow showers are expected.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny, breezy and cool with a high of 42. Mountain snow showers continue.
SATURDAY: A mix of sunshine and clouds with a high around 40.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and chilly for March with highs in the upper 30s.
MONDAY: Sunny and still breezy with a high of 38.
