Toothbrushes, canned goods, cleaning detergentsand cat food; all things that can easily be taken for granted, unless you're a victim of Hurricane Sandy.
"The public was very, very generous. Everyone that I spoke to in the public has been very supportive," says Scheuch.
Berkeley County Emergency Services started what's called "Stuff-A-Truck". They say it's a truck stuffed with thousands of dollars worth of community donated goods that will be taken up to New Jersey.
"All of the emergency services, and the fire too, volunteer and career fire, they've been helping out too, as well; tremendous support from them," says Scheuch.
After only two weeks, the truck is almost half-full of donations from the local community and Berkeley County Emergency Services. Just before the final deadline, employees say they are still unloading boxes of donations.
"We've had multiple people come here with stuff because they know the deadline's coming," says Scheuch. "So that's why all of these boxes are in there. We've boxed up a lot of stuff yesterday and now we have to box up all the stuff we got today."
The Berkeley County Emergency Services has super-sized the holiday spirit, not letting time pass for the many people still in need.
