Mayor David Gysberts toured the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.
The principal of the school showed the Mayor how they utilize downtown buildings. For example, lunch is across the street at the church and classes are also taught at the University System of Maryland.
He stopped by a classroom and fittingly the course focused on government.
"I wanted this to be the very first public school that I visit because it's in the heart of our downtown and they bring so much energy and vitality to our inner city here," says Mayor Gysberts.
The Mayor hopes to visit other schools in the city down the line.
