SHARPSBURG, MD - The Sharpsburg man who turned himself in to authorities Friday morning, and was the target of an extensive eight hour search Thursday, was released Friday after posting bond.

Maryland State Police say Terry Porter, 46, of 4433 Mills Road, was charged with seven counts of possession of a shot gun or rifle after conviction on a disqualifying offense and seven counts of possession of a fire arm after conviction of a drug felony.

Jail and Central booking officials say Porter was held Friday on $75,000 bond and posted bail before he could be admitted to the Washington County Detention Center.

Maryland State police, along with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI served a search warrant against Porter Thursday after getting a tip that he had illegal weapons inside his home.
