Families of Williamsport Teens Killed in Crash Speak

HAGERSTOWN, MD - It's been two weeks since the fatal night of Williamsport High's prom. The families of Samantha Kelly and Brendon Colliflower are carrying their legacies on and say they're living life how Sam or Brendon would have wanted them to.

"He was always number six to me. Come on six," said Chad Colliflower, Brendon's father.

"I think she was stunning," said Keith Kelly, Samantha's father. "I mean, the way she carried herself and just stood up tall and just glowed, I don't think I'm just a father talking. I think she really did. That was the last I saw her."

"When we went in the bedroom yesterday, on the dresser was a Mother's Day card to [Brendon's mother] that he hadn't gotten to mail yet. She said that she would cherish that card forever," said Sharon Butts, Brendon's grandmother.

When asked what he'd say to Brendon if he were here today, his father said, "Everything I said to him every day, 'I love you.' How proud he made me every day. Hug him one more time, tell him he'll never be forgot."

"he was eight years old when he harvested his first Button Buck. He was always proud," said John Colliflower, Brendon's grandfather.

"The littlest things could make her laugh," said Samantha's brother, Jack. "I remember when she could stack coins on her elbow and catch them."

"One of her Twitter messages was how she liked how everybody was different, but that's okay because that makes life interesting," said Samantha's father.

"Well get to see each other again someday, whether it be sooner or later. I'll see him again and I know he's happy," said Brendon's father.

"The funny thing is, we would have thought Samantha was doing everything right and I think things like this just happen," said Samantha's father. "I think that's the way she was looking at life. You've got to live life. It is what it is and you make the best of it and I think she certainly made the best out of her short 17 years."

Both families extend their thanks for the high school and community for continued support. Friends, family and classmates wear wristbands and t-shirts remembering Sam and Brendon.
