MARTINSBURG, WV - The Snyder child abuse trial continued on Monday.

The defense rested their case late in the afternoon. Dr. Wendy Shakelford took the stand for the majority of the morning.

She was questioned by the prosecuting and defense attorneys in her connection with the Snyder family.

Shakelford responded to a series of detailed questions on her observations of the parents Christina and Nathan Snyder.

As of now two counts are being charged against Christina Snyder and twelve counts against Nathan Snyder.

When Shakelford was asked if she ever saw Christina drunk or any signs of abuse during her visits to the family she responded, "no."

During the questioning, Shakelford also indicated that she did not notice any time where the kids did not want to go home.

Closing statements are expected Tuesday.
