The county NAACP has requested a meeting with the board to help understand the departure of the school's former President "F.J" Talley.

The letter says NAACP hopes the meeting will provide clarity, and understanding, so they don't have to pursue the request under the Maryland Public Information Act.

FCC leaders say they realize many in the community have interest in Dr. Talley's departure. They say they hope to provide more information after discussions between the board and Dr. Talley conclude. They also say they plan to meet with NAACP after those discussions.

"Part of our on going discussions are related to the leadership changed here at Frederick Community College as well as his contract, and that is part of the on going discussions. Frederick Community College's attorney is in discussions with Dr. Talley's and they are discussing a lot," says FCC spokesperson Mike Pritchard.

Dr. Talley was the first black President at the school, and held the position for six months. He had signed a three year contract and was replaced by Doug Browning on January 3.
