FAIRFIELD, PA - The chilly temperatures made for the best week of the ski season so far, and local resorts are happy to say this year is shaping up far differently from last year.

Jack Frost has been a friend to ski resorts, including Liberty Mountain this week, but nothing's created more powder than their snow makers.

"I know last week it was like 50 degrees, it was absolutely terrible, but this week's been really good, blows off in the teens, lots of good snow," says skier Ben Gesell from Myersville, MD.

"We've been able to make snow for like the past four days, 24 hours, and it's been just great," says Anne Weimer, marketing director for Ski Liberty.

Things were different in last year's mild winter, when Ski Liberty's season started late and ended a couple weeks early. They say they never saw temperatures like this.

For new skiers and snowboarders, the best deal at ski liberty is on Thursdays. It's just $39 for the lift ticket, lessons and ski or board rentals.
