Police say Cory Nowalk, of Frederick, admitted he helped hide the gun that was used to shoot a 16-year-old boy in the chest on December 19th.
Police say the alleged shooter Dylan Grey, 17, who was charged earlier this month, gave Nowalk the gun. They say Nowalk then gave it to someone else to throw away.
Nowalk later showed police where the gun was hidden.
"Members of the Hillcrest community can rest assured that this wasn't a stranger crime. This was an incident that was between individuals that knew each other. I believe members of that neighborhood can continue to feel safe in going about their daily business," says Captain Thomas Ledwell, Frederick Acting Police Chief.
Police say Nowalk is charged with having a handgun and being an accessory to first-degree assault. He's currently being held at the Frederick County Detention Center on a $1,000 bond.
