SHARPSBURG, MD - Rescue crews Thursday say a vehicle overturned on Burnside Bridge Road, trapping one woman inside.

Crews say it was a one-vehicle accident. They say a woman lost control of her SUV, swerved off of the road, and flipped over. Crews say they were able to free the woman from her vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The damaged SUV was taken away by tow truck.

Maryland State Police Trooper 3 was said to be working in the area in a separate incident with law enforcement.

Burnside Bridge Road is currently open.

Comments

This woman was a police officer who was racing for no reason down the back roads of my home town. ... to assist in serving a search warrant... along with 200 other officials. Her out of control driving was WAY out of line and she endangered the lives of anyone in her path. Please make no mistake. This was not a "separate incident"
