Happy Independence Day! A front gets hung up across the Mid Atlantic states. This will lead to several rounds of thunderstorms, especially in the evening and overnight. Some of the storms will contain some gusty winds and small hail. Be prepared to seek shelter for outdoor fireworks viewing or BBQs.
    Saturday
    Jul 5
A frontal system will linger across the Mid-Atlantic States. Skies will be generally mostly cloudy with rounds of showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially south of the Mason-Dixon line. The uncertainty in the forecast would be the amount of sunshine and how high the mercury climbs. If enough sunshine makes it to the surface, temperatures will be closer to 80 degrees. That will lend itself to a better chance for stronger afternoon thunderstorms.
    Sunday
    Jul 6
With the cold front draped across the four state region, expect a continuation of partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies with generally morning and late day showers and thunderstorms. Any thunderstorm this weekend will be capable of producing heavy rainfall.
    Monday
    Jul 7
The frontal system will lose much of its identity. High pressure anchored off the Mid-Atlantic coast will ensure more sunshine and warmer weather across the region. Still, there is a chance for isolated thunderstorms, but they will be far and few between.
    Tuesday
    Jul 8
Partly cloudy skies, warm, and humid.
    Wednesday
    Jul 9
A typical early July weather pattern will emerge this week with warmer and more humid conditions with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.
    Thursday
    Jul 10
Partly sunny skies. Scattered late day thunderstorms ahead of the next frontal system. The frontal system will linger through the weekend. We stay on the humid side of the front with a few thunderstorms late afternoon through the evening.
