WINCHESTER, VA -
A Virginia man is now in police custody after authorities say he robbed a local McDonald’s, crashed his getaway car, and led police on a foot chase late Monday night.
Officials say Christopher Bratton walked into the McDonald’s on Merchant Street in Winchester just before midnight Monday, pulled out a gun and demanded money.
Bratton then took off in a car with an undisclosed amount of cash.
During his escape, police say Bratton crashed his car into another car on Martinsburg Pike.
Authorities say he then unsuccessfully tried to steal the car that belonged to the driver he hit.
After a brief chase on foot, Bratton was finally taken into custody.
