Reported by: Jamie Burke Friday, Nov 20, 2009 @07:00pm EST CHARLES TOWN, WV - Some familiar faces were in the Eastern Panhandle Friday.
Senator Robert Byrd joined Governor Joe Manchin and Congresswoman Shelly Moore Capito (R-WV) at Washington High School. They marked the start of construction on the new section of Route 9. It will stretch from the Shenandoah River Bridge to the Virginia State Line. "I think it's a long time coming," said Capito. "This area has great growth and with that brings traffic and I think this is a project that is well past due." The construction is being paid for with federal stimulus funds. |
