FREDERICK, MD - A wanted man did his best to avoid capture on Thursday but still ended up behind bars.
Frederick City Police say Travis Bowie was first taken into custody around 3:00 p.m. in the area of Rose Hill Manor.
An off-duty police officer recognized him as one of the city's most wanted criminals.
Bowie was arrested shortly after a foot chase with on-duty officers but managed to break free.
He scaled two fences and struggled with police but was then taken into custody again.
Bowie is now charged with second degree assault, resisting arrest and escape.
He was already wanted on warrants with Maryland State Police and Frederick City Police. -
