FREDERICK, MD - A lot of healthy and curious families went to the hospital in Frederick on Saturday.

The Frederick Memorial Hospital hosted its annual operating room open house.

It was a hands-on event where visitors could play with real operating tools and take their own pulse.  Visitors also tried on surgeon's clothing and looked at x-rays.

Bonnie Baust of the Frederick Memorial Hospital System said, "[It] helps people who have had bad experiences in surgery, and they're able to come see it in a more comforting, quiet atmosphere where they can see it as a positive experience."

This was the first year an anesthesiologist was there to talk.

The hospital says they add more and more to the tour every year.
