FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA - Staff and soldiers at the Letterkenny Army Depot observed a moment of silence Friday in memory of their comrades who were killed in the tragedy at Fort Hood.
The moment happened at 2:34 when the first shots were fired. That was also just as most of Letterkenny's workers were getting out, but officers put up the gate and stopped traffic so everyone was involved.
Colonel Cheri Provancha, the depot commander, says, "It's a matter of it's a necessity for us to recognize it because that's our family. Whether we are civilians or we wear the uniform, we're a part of that family."
13 people were killed in the Fort Hood shootings. Dozens more were injured, but are all now in stable condition.
