Reported by: Sarah Hopkins Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @07:24pm EST BUCKEYSTOWN, MD - Maryland State Police say a road construction worker was killed after a co-worker backed over him with a bucket truck on Friday.
It happened just before 3:00 p.m. Police say Carroll Michael Rehmert of Brooklyn Park, Maryland was working as a flagman near the intersection of Route 85 and Lime Kiln Rd when he was killed. Authorities say the 57-year-old had stopped north bound traffic when Anthony Lamburn backed into him. Rehmert was then pulled underneath of the rear axle of the truck. In a state of panic, Lamburn ran over Rehmert a second time. Rehmert was pronounced dead at the scene. Both parties were employed by LAI construction out of Perry Hall, MD. Authorities have not been determined if charges will be filed in the case, and police are continuing to investigate the accident. |
