WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - Officials are asking the public if they think County Commuter bus routes should stretch to Boonsboro and Hancock.

The public will have their chance to express ideas at several meetings, the first of which was held Wednesday in Boonsboro.

Public feedback is one of the last stages of a study the county is performing with an outside consultant to determine the changing needs for transportation.

"We have had numerous requests from the citizens and from the public figures here in Boonsboro for some type of service, and through the consultant that is doing the study for us we think we have identified a plan that could work," says Kevin Cerrone, the director of Washington County Transit.

Only four residents showed at the first meeting, and none of them are public transportation users. Their main concerns seemed to be with funding.
